Where is the museum located?

The Georgetown County Museum is located at 632 Prince Street in the Historic District of Georgetown, South Carolina.  We are just one block North of the Town Clock on Front Street. Click here for a detailed map.

Do you have an admission fee?

Members of the Georgetown County Historical Society are always admitted free.  For non-members: 6-18 yrs: $2.00, 19-64yrs: $4.00, 65 yrs and over: $3.00, under 6 yrs old: free.  The Museum also offers special rates for groups.  Please call ahead: 843-545-7020.

Do you have a shop where I can purchase Georgetown County memorabilia?

Yes.  Although we are working to segregate our “items for sale” into a separate gift shop, we have a large selection of historical books, logo shirts, tote bags, coffee mugs etc. for sale throughout the Museum.

Do you have artifacts from the early pre-revolutionary war period native Americans?

Some of our displays date back to more than 300 years of history and culture.  A visitor to the Museum can examine Native American artifacts of the Waccamaw, Peedee and Sampit tribes
